Event objectives

The excursion tour aimed to provide students with firsthand experience and knowledge about organic
farming practices. The objectives included:
1. Educational Insight: To educate students about the principles and benefits of organic farming.
Understanding the importance of sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices.
2. Practical Exposure: To provide students with hands-on experience in various organic farming
techniques. Demonstrations on composting, natural pest control, and soil enrichment methods.
3. Farm-to-Table Concept: To instill the concept of farm-to-table and raise awareness about the
origin of food. Understanding the impact of organic farming on food quality and nutrition.
4. Environmental Awareness: To create awareness about the environmental impact of conventional
farming methods. Encouraging students to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.

Event briefs

Field visit is an essential part of certificate course, studying natural habitat or organic farm to enhance our
knowledge that is learn from the classroom discussions and laboratory experiment.
The department of botany organized one day field visit at Organic farm ( Adishakti Organic farm) on 24 th
January 2024. Total 45 students of B.Sc. I,III and IV th semester were participated. Along with students
three teachers namely Dr. L. N. Borkar, Mr. K. S. Lokhande, Mr. A. M. Nakade were present.

The tour commenced with a guided tour of the organic farm, where students witnessed
sustainable farming practices in action. They actively participated in planting, composting, and
harvesting activities, gaining practical insights into the organic cultivation process.
Interactive sessions with local farmers and Form owner provided students with a platform
to ask questions and learn from real-world experiences. The three teachers facilitated discussions,
ensuring that students grasped the scientific and ethical aspects of organic farming.
The farm-to-table aspect is reinforced the connection between sustainable agriculture and a
healthy lifestyle.
Overall, the excursion tour successfully achieved its aim of enhancing students
understanding of organic farming, fostering environmental consciousness, and promoting
sustainable practices in agriculture. Students are guided about multicultivation methods such as

Guava, Chilli, Mango, Tomato, Dragon fruit, Chikoo, Paddy, Brinjal, Cucumber, exotic
vegetables, fruit plants.

Event outcomes

The field visit aimed at providing hands-on experience in the field of Organic farming. During the
visit student gained information on techniques and microbes used in organic farming. The students also
learnt about the importance of Organic farming, and its benefits.
An interactive session was held at the Institute to make student aware of benefits of using biofertilizers.
During the session they were also taught about the production, processing, transportation and marketing
for its commercial use.
