The department of microbiology celebrated International Microorganisms Day to pay tribute to Antony van Leewenhoek, for his significant contribution when he demonstrated the first microorganism on September 17th, 1683. On the day, all the students of the undergraduate and postgraduate departments of microbiology were gathered to understand the importance of the subject, the need of spread the subject among the masses, and to know career opportunities in this discipline. Dr. Gopal Jee Gopal was invited as a guest speaker to give the lecture “On Opportunities for Graduates and Postgraduates in Biosciences”. The program started at Sharp 3 p.m. in “Blended Mode”.
The event was coordinated, and an introduction speech was delivered by Dr. Amol Shyamkuwar and Dr. Sharad Deshmukh (head), Department of Microbiology. The Microbiological Association of Students was formed on the occasion and inaugurated by Principal Professor Ishwar Mohurley and Dr. K. J. Sibi, IQAC Coordinator.
The guest speaker, Dr.Gopal Jee Gopal, Assistant Professor, Biotechnology Department, C. G. Bhakta Institute, Bardoli, Gujrat, was joined by Virtullay and delivered his talk as said above. Dr. Gopal Jee Gopal sir communicates with all the students about their experience in the biosciences field, and he guides us about the various scopes in this field. He told the students the opportunities and modes of earning through this field at every level after UG and PG.
Further, Dr. Mohurle Sir, gave a presidential speech on the occasion, and a vote of thanks was delivered by Miss Ravina Balbuddhe (student, Semester V).
