Event objectives

The main aims and objective of our visit to Bharat Varsh Nature Farms Udasa/Virli Dist: Nagpur and Gose/ Khurd Dam are as follows,

  • To study Agro-farming.
  • To study Nursery and gardening.
  • To study the medicinal plants
  • To study Taxonomical classification of plants.

A group of 62 students visited Bharat Varsh Nature Farms Udasa/Virli Dist: Nagpur and Gose/ Khurd Dam. The students are able to learn about multi cultivation methods, fruit and vegitable farms, medicinal plants, fruit plants, plant nursery and vermicompost unit.  Students also gained information about various plants group present in wetland area. Student also collect samples of cyanobacteria as well as bryophytic plant material. Student also gained information about important medicinal plants.

Event briefs

Field study is an essential part of Botany, studying plants in their natural habitat or production unit to enhance our knowledge that is learn from the classroom discussions and laboratory experiment.

The department of Botany S. S. Jaiswal College organized one day tour on 12th September, 2023 at Bharat Varsh Nature Farms Udasa/Virli Dist: Nagpur And Gose/ Khurd Dam, Dist. Bhandara. Total 62 students of the B.Sc. 1st, 3rd and 5th Semester were participated. Along with Students, three Teachers namely Dr. L. N. Borkar, Mr. K. S. Lokhande and Mr. A. M. Nakade were present.

Event outcomes

The field visit aimed at providing hands-on experience in the field of Agrofarming, During the visit student gained information on techniques used in Agrofarming, The students also learnt about the importance of Agrofarming, and its benefits. Students also learned about various techniques involved in plant nursery, vermicompost production. Student also learned about low maintenance indoor plants and air purifier plants. Students also learned about taxonomical classification of plants in the Gose dam area. And student collect various plant groups such as algae and bryophytes.
