Report on Educational Tour – Metrology Laboratory, Chicholi/Buj,
District – Chandrapur

The department of geography emphasizes each field of study in addition to the various programmes offered at the institution. As a part of this, field trips are organized by the department. Meteorology is a subject in Geography BA Sem-II 200 at the affiliated Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. In the modern era, the study of the upper atmosphere is being emphasized by modern machinery while studying the state of the air. Therefore, environmental knowledge is increasing. Various elements of the surrounding environment are studied in this branch. Structure of the atmosphere, composition of gases, solar power and its distribution, air pressure, winds, humidity, rain, clouds, etc., involved in the element study. Therefore, more than 350 Metrology department have been established across India to study these elements. These observatories are equipped with modern machinery and equipment and monitor the atmosphere. Hence the educational trip of BA Sem. II group of students is planned to study the atmosphere elements with meteorological instruments at Chicholi/Buj in Chandrapur district. 38 students participated in this educational tour. The educational tour was visited on the said metrology laboratory on May 6, 2022.
