Event briefs

As a part of wildlife week celebration, A Nature trail was organized at Navegaon-Nagzira Tiger Reserve (NNTR) on dated 02/10/2022. The programme is in collaboration with Department of Forest, Government of Maharashtra and Hirwad NGO, Gondia. Total 20 students of the college accompying with faculty members Dr. Gopal T. Paliwal, Dr. Manoj K. bangadkar and Mr. Rupchand Y. Dongarwar were participated.

Programme was started with the introductory meeting conducted by Mr. Rupesh Nibarte, Director, Hirwad. He explains the aim and need of the programme to participants. After introductory meeting all the participants were goes for butterfly walk. A 30 minutes butterfly walk was undertaken under the guidance of Ms. Aarti fule, Mr. rupesh Nimbarte, Dr. Gopal Paliwal and Dr. Manoj Bangadkar. A total 25 species of butterflies species were identified.

The second session was started with the power point presentation given by Dr. Gopal Paliwal at auction hall. During his presentation he explains about the identification of spiders and spider biodiversity. Shri. Raut sir, Lodging officer and Shri Sachin Dongarwar sir, RFO Navegaon Bandh were present on the dies. More than 20 students, 25 forest officials and 10 NGO members were present during presentations.

Third session conducted by the Mr. Bhimrao Lade, Navegaonbandh. He explains all the flora of navegaonbandh, Floral identification and Ithnobotanical values of different plant of Navegaon bandh. A total 50-60 species of local and endangered plant species were identified and listed by the participants.
