Event objectives

  • To create public awareness about Medicinal Chemistry among faculty members, research scholars, students, and young intellectuals.
  • To provide a platform for discussion about the fundamental concepts of Medicinal Chemistry.
  • To provide critical thinking and evidence-based problem-solving skills.

  • The development of new drugs involves chemical analysis and synthesis of new compounds.

INAUGURATION-

The workshop was inaugurated with Chair Person, Dr. Ashwin M. Chandel  Off. Principal S.S.J.College, Arjuni/Mor., chief guest, Dr. Sanjay P. Dhanwate,  Principal, Narayanrao Kale Smruti Model College, Karanja(Gh.), Dr. Pralhad  K. Rahangadale,  Prof. & head of chemistry department, Bhawabhuti Mahavidyalaya Amgaon Dist.- Gondia resource person Dr. Vishal N. Banewar Associate Professor, Dept. of Chemistry Institute of Science, Mumbai, Dr. Umesh  P. Meshram, organizing secretary  and Dr. Nitin  D. Vilayatkar organizing secretary.

Firstly Prof. Ather Husain welcomes all. Dr. Umesh P. Meshram introduced the resource person and guests as well as he enlightens them about the workshop. The inaugural speech was delivered by Dr. Sanjay P. Dhanwate, he officially inaugurates the workshop and gave some outlines of Medicinal Chemistry, and explain the importance of Medicinal Chemistry in the current era. Chair Person, Dr. Ashwin M. Chandel shares his views about advancement in medicinal chemistry in India and other developed countries. The inaugural session was conducted by Prof. Ather Husain and a vote of thanks was proposed by   Dr. Nitin  D. Vilayatkar.

TECHNICAL SESSION I –

The resource person of the technical session was Dr. Vishal N. Banewar  Associate Professor, Dept. of Chemistry, Institute of Science, Mumbai delivered a talk on ‘Prospective of Medicinal Chemistry. Dr. Banewar described the meaning of the perspective of Medicinal Chemistry. Participants learned about the development of new drugs involving chemical analysis and synthesis. He explained some basic terminology in Medicinal Chemistry, the mechanism of patho-biochemistry of diseases, identification and validation of (emerging) drug targets, and structural biology. This session was chaired by Dr. Pradip Tekade, Associate. Professor, Dept. of Chemistry, J.B.Science college, Wardha, provides many pictorial examples therefore students and faculty very clearly understood various aspects of Medicinal Chemistry. The session was very interactive and students came to know many new things about patents. The first session ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. A. C. Kavale, Dept. of Chemistry, S.S.J.College, Arjuni/Mor to the resources person, chairman, and all participants.

VALEDICTORY FUNCTION –

The valedictory function was presided over by Dr. Sanjay P. Dhanwate, Principal, Narayanrao Kale Smruti Model College, Karanja (Gh.) and the chief guests were Dr. Chandrakant    Bhaskar Prof. & Head of Department Chemistry, Taywade College, Koradi. Dr. Chandrakant Bhaskar expressed his views about the ‘Prospective of Medicinal Chemistry’’. He explored the Importance and measures of the recent development of Medicinal Chemistry.  Dr. Sanjay P. Dhanwate summarized the one-day workshop in his presidential speech.

e-Participation certificates were also distributed as soon as participants gave their feedback about the workshop. On the basis of feedback from participants, the workshop was considered as successful.

The valedictory function was conducted by Prof. Ather Husain and a vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Amit .R.Yaul,  Head, Dept. of Chemistry, NKS Model College, On behalf of convener he specially thanks Patron, Hon’ble Adv.   • What is a “Patent” ? and different aspects related to patenting were learned.
