Event objectives

  1. This hands-on training program has the prime objective of teaching students the potential of Soilless Cultivation/Hydroponics from very basics of this science through step by step practical hands-on training.
  2. Teach students right from Basics of the technique of growing plants. The idea is to give perspective and an ideal starting point for beginners and students to this way of cultivation.

Event briefs

Department of Botany, S.S Jaiswal college, Arjuni/Mor organized a “Skill Development Programme in Hydroponic System (Hands-on training)”on 10th November 2022. The president of this program was Prof. Ishwar Mohurley, Principal, S.S. Jaiswal college Arjuni/Mor. The resource person of the training program was Mr. Kailash Lokhande, Assistant Professor Department of Botany, S.S.Jaiswal college Arjuni/Mor. Dr. K.J.Sibi IQAC coordinator, S.S.Jaiswal college Arjuni/Mor and Dr. Laxmikant N. Borkar, Head Department of Botany, S.S.Jaiswal college, Arjuni/Mor. were also grace the chair for this programme.

Introductory Speech was given by Dr. Laxmikant N. Borkar. He briefly explains the advantages of the hydroponic system. IQAC coordinator Dr. K.J.Sibi explains the importance of such a program to cultivate practical knowledge among the students. The presidential speech was given by Principal professor Ishwar Mohurley sir. He briefly explained the Importance of skill development program and certificate courses in Choice Based Credit System. Sir also encourages the student to participate in such various activities for their overall development.

Resource person of the program, Mr. Kailash S. Lokhande explains how growing population and demand of food has been the driving factor for the rise of hydroponics in India, What are various Hydroponics methods of growing plants without soil, What are the Modern approaches and future of Hydroponics, advantages and challenges in hydroponic system, Hydroponic in agriculture and terrace gardening. He also gives hands-on training on how to make hydroponic setup, how to make and formulate nutrient solution and how to balance various factors like temperature, pH and TDS in nutrient solution.

The Program was hosted by Miss. Khushbu Chetti, student of B.Sc Sem-III and votes of thanks was given by Ku. Shehal Bramhankar, student of B.Sc Sem-I. Total 98 Students participants of Sem-I, Sem-III, Sem-V and different faculties teachers were also present on this occasion.
