Event briefs

The Awareness Program on “Constitutional Obligations: Values, Rights, Duties & Responsibilities of Citizens” held at the Seminar Hall of the college on the occasion of National Voters Day 2024 was a resounding success. It was initiated by of Internal Quality Assurance Cell and chalked out by National Service Scheme, Electoral Literacy Club and Department of Political Science. The program, designed with specific objectives in mind, achieved its goals of educating citizens, promoting civic engagement, and honoring the pioneers of the Indian Constitution. The ceremony began with the lighting of the traditional lamp, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge. A heartfelt tribute was paid to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, recognizing their monumental contributions to the constitutional framework.

Dr. P R Bhanse, IQAC Member, welcomed the audience, emphasizing the significance of the program in the context of National Voters Day. His opening remarks set a positive and inclusive tone. Mr. Varunumar Shahare, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), delivered a compelling message, urging citizens to actively participate in the democratic process. His insights resonated with the audience, instilling a sense of responsibility. Dr. Bharat Rathod, Head of the Department of Political Science, provided a scholarly perspective on constitutional obligations, offering valuable insights into the rights and duties of citizens. His keynote speech enriched the intellectual understanding of the participants. Dr. K J SIBI, IQAC Coordinator, and Mr. Aniruddha Kamble, Tahsildar, conveyed messages emphasizing the importance of constitutional awareness and citizen engagement in building a strong democracy. Prof. Ishwar S. Mohurley, the Principal, delivered an inspiring address, encouraging participants to embrace their civic responsibilities and contribute to the nation’s progress. Dr. M R Darve, NSS Program Officer, expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, participants, and organizers, highlighting the collaborative effort that made the program successful. Laxmikant Kapgate, Assistant IQAC Coordinator, compared the  the program, emphasizing key takeaways and the success in achieving the program’s objectives. The program concluded on a patriotic note with the Rashtravandana, fostering a sense of unity and national pride among the participants.

In conclusion, the Awareness Program on Constitutional Obligations not only met but exceeded its objectives. The participants left the Seminar Hall with enriched knowledge, a sense of responsibility, and a renewed commitment to fulfilling their constitutional duties as responsible citizens.
