As per the current outbreak of the Corona epidemic, online teaching has been around for almost more than a year now. However, there is a need to create more awareness among the students and teachers about the information communication and technology tools used in this online teaching-learning system. With this in mind, the Department of Mathematics and IQAC, Shivprasad Sadanand Jaiswal College organised three days of online workshops on the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd of September 2021. The theme of the workshop was “ICT Tools for Online Teaching and Learning”. The objective of the workshop was mainly aimed to introduce students, academicians, and especially for students of non-professional courses to the fascinating world of ICT, it’s major role in the education domain and to acquire the ICT skills necessary for teaching and learning through online platforms. As ICT Tools is an inevitable tool for today’s globalised education, ICT tools have become a need of an hour in this pandemic situation in respect to which UGC also has a lot of emphasis to gradually increase the use of ICT in the teaching-learning process. On the occasion of the inauguration of this online workshop, the Offg. The principal of the College, Dr. Ashwin Chandel, the Coordinator of IQAC, Dr. K. J. Sibi, as well as workshop convener Mr. Mohan D. Dhuratkar were present.
The resource person for this three-day workshop is Ms Dipti P. Theng, Assistant Professor, GH Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur. More than 450 students and teachers participated in this online workshop and augmented their knowledge of ICT tools in this virtual workshop.Ms Dipti P. Theng provided in-depth guidance on Google Classroom, Google Forms, PowerPoint Presentations, GoogleMeet and other ICT tools used for teaching-learning process. Dr Ashwin Chandel, President of the workshop, inaugurated the workshop by emphasizing the importance of ICT tools. Convener Mohan D. Dhuratkar, in his introductory speech, mentioned the objectives of the online workshop and IQAC Coordinator Dr K.J. Sibi expressed a vote of thanks and assured to conduct more such workshops in the near future.
E-certificates were awarded to all the participants who attended all the sessions and submitted the feedback form.
To ensure the success of the workshop, Mr Mohan Dhuratkar, Mr Kailash Lokhande, Dr Ashish Kavale, Mr Yatrik Bhagat and Mr Laxmikant Kapgate put in their efforts.
