Event objectives

The objective of the Creative Writing Workshop conducted by the Department of English was to enhance the creative writing skills of the students and provide them with a platform to explore and express their literary talents. The workshop aimed to foster a deeper understanding of the art of writing and encourage students to unleash their creativity.

The workshop took place on April 24, 2023, at 1:00 PM in the ICT Lab.
Mr. Laxmikant Kapgate, the convenor of the program, set the tone with an introductory remark, highlighting the relevance of creative writing in today’s dynamic world. He expressed the department’s commitment to nurturing literary talents.
Mr. Ravi Thaware, Assistant Professor, was the resource person for the workshop. With his extensive expertise in creative writing, Mr. Thaware guided participants through various aspects of the craft, providing insights, techniques, and practical exercises to inspire and improve their writing abilities.
Dr. Ishwar Mohurley, chairing the session, commended the initiative taken by the Department of English for organizing such a workshop, emphasizing its importance in the holistic development of students.
Dr. K J Sibi, IQAC Coordinator, enlightened the participants on the significance of creative writing in academic and personal growth. He emphasized how honing creative writing skills can enhance critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Miss Swati Madavi, the Organizing Secretary, skillfully managed the session, ensuring a smooth flow of activities. She facilitated interactive sessions, encouraging participants to actively engage in the creative writing process.
Ku Amisha Chaudhari, the Organizing Secretary, expressed gratitude on behalf of the department. She thanked Mr. Ravi Thaware for his invaluable contributions, Dr. Ishwar Mohurley for chairing the session, Dr. K J Sibi for guiding the students, and all participants for their active involvement.

Event outcomes

The workshop successfully achieved its objectives, as evidenced by the enthusiastic participation of students and the positive feedback received. Participants gained a deeper understanding of creative writing, honed their skills through practical exercises, and were inspired to explore their creativity further. The event contributed significantly to the overall literary development of the students.
