Ritu Lalit Nakade, an alumna of Shivprasad Sadanand Jaiswal College, Arjuni Morgaon. Her journey from the rustic heartland of Gondia district to the prestigious halls of the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, is a narrative that resonates with inspiration and triumph.
Hailing from Arjuni Morgaon, a small tehsil nestled in the embrace of rural Maharashtra, Ritu dared to dream beyond the horizon. Her academic journey commenced at Shivprasad Sadanand Jaiswal College, a beacon of learning in the region. There, she distinguished herself as a bright and ambitious student, her eyes reflecting aspirations far beyond the confines of her hometown. Her zeal for knowledge and pursuit of excellence led her to the postgraduate teaching department of Botany at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, where she successfully completed her Master’s degree.
However, it was her unwavering determination and relentless efforts that secured her a place among the 75 meritorious students selected under the Maharashtra Government’s prestigious Foreign Scholarship Scheme for VJNT, OBC, and SBC categories. This landmark initiative aims to provide deserving students from marginalized communities the opportunity to pursue higher education abroad, covering tuition fees, other academic expenses, and maintenance allowances. The scholarship, valued at approximately INR 1.7 crore, symbolizes the convergence of merit and opportunity. Ritu’s acceptance into the University of Birmingham for a four-year full-time PhD program in Biosciences marked the culmination of her dreams and the beginning of a promising future. This rare opportunity symbolizes not only her individual achievement but also the potential that resides within the rural heartlands of Maharashtra.
Reflecting on her journey, Ritu expressed heartfelt gratitude towards her mentors and supporters. “The unwavering support, constant motivation, and invaluable guidance from my teachers have been the cornerstone of my success. They shaped my academic path and infused in me the confidence to envision a future without limits. I feel immensely proud to be an alumna of Shivprasad Sadanand Jaiswal College, Arjuni Morgaon. This institution has been more than a place of learning; it has been the cradle of my aspirations,” she said. She extended her sincere thanks to Dr. Ishwar Mohurley, Principal of SSJ College, Dr. Laxmikant Borkar, Head of the Department of Botany, along with her mentors Kailash Lokhande, Ankit Nakade, Laxmikant Kapgate, Gopal Paliwal, Ajay Raut, Dr. Ashish Kawale, and the teaching staff.
