A Program was organized in Shivprasad Sadanand Jaiswal College, Arjuni/Mor., on Friday, 11th August, 2023 to observe Maharashtra Shree Ann (Nutritional Foodgrains) for celebrating “International Millets Year 2023” by Shivprasad Sadanand Jaiswal College, Arjuni/Mor. and Agriculture Department Arjuni/Mor. The program was carried out in the presence of Prof. Ishwar Mohurley and Dr. K. J. Sibbi, IQAC Coordinator, Shivprasad Sadanand Jaiswal College.
The chief guest of the program respected Mr. Pankaj Suryawanshi, Agriculture Supervisor, Taluka Agriculture Office, Arjuni/Mor., guided the students and audience on effects of modernization and changing lifestyle on human life. He also propounded that, due to western food and race of increased production affects nutrition from diet. Avoiding conventional agriculture and due to modernization of agriculture there is increased use of chemical fertilizers, this affects human life. To get cure from this we have to introduce conventional millets i.e., Shree Ann (Millets) in our diet.
Another chief guest of the program respected Ms. Priyanka Kirnapure, Child Development Project Officer, ICDS, Arjuni/Mor., put forward importance of millets in daily diet like, Pearl Millet (Bajari), Finger Millet (Nachani), Sorghum (Jowar), Little Millet (Varai), etc.
Dr. Laxmikant Borkar gave the introduction and motto of the program through his speech. And certificates were distributed to students who have completed Certificate Course in Organic Farming by the guests.
For success of program there was contribution of Prof. Ankit Nakade, Prof. Laxmikant Kapgate, Prof. Kailas Lokhande. This program was attended by most of the students of college and teaching and non- teaching staff
