Shivprasad Sadanand Jaiswal College uses the Afforestation method adopted from the Reforestation of natural vegetation theory of Dr. Akira Miyawaki pioneered by Japanese Botanist Dr. Akira Miyawaki that helps build dense native forests. The approach is supposed to ensure that plant growth is 10 times faster and the resulting plantation is 30 times dense than usual. Site of area (55m x 13m = 715 sq.m.) selected from Miyawaki. Soil texture and nutritive value has been check marking has been done to dig a pit of 1×1 feet. Pit distance of 1 feet between every pit. Plants are planted randomly. Then make mixture of soil, husk and cow dung in the ration (80:10:10) respectively. Select 650 native plants from 22 varieties collected from Social Forestry Nursery Arjuni/Mor., Dist. Gondia for the plantation.
Due to deforestation and lose of biodiversity its urgent need to restore the Ecosystem by developing mini forest through Miyawaki method. Create dense forest that enriches the green cover and reinforces richness of the land soil restoration, Ground water recharge, High carbon sequestration and habitat for flora and fauna are some of the innumerable benefits rendered by these forests location.
