NSS (National Service Scheme)

“Not for me, but for you”

The National Service Scheme was created with the aim of fostering college students’ total personality development and societal consciousness in their thoughts. The National Service Scheme for College Students has been running under the Ministry of Youth Welfare and Sports of the Government of India from September 24, 1969. The National Service Scheme Team has been operating in the institution since 1991, and it now includes 250 students, up from its initial membership of 50. This has given the college’s National Service Scheme students the opportunity to take part in various levels of camps and regular programs. Inspired by this attitude, “not for me, but for you,” our college’s students are making contributions in a variety of professions.

महाविद्यालयीन विद्यार्थ्यांच्या मनात सामाजिक जाणीव निर्माण करणे व त्यांचा सर्वांगीण व्यक्तिमत्व विकास घडवून आणणे या उद्देशाने राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजनेची स्थापना झाली. 24 सप्टेंबर 1969 पासुन महाविद्यालयीन विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजना भारत सरकारच्या युवा कल्याण व क्रीडा मंत्रालयांतर्गत राबविण्यात येत आहे. महाविद्यालयात 1991 पासून राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजना पथक कार्यरत असून पन्नास विद्यार्थ्याच्या सहभागातून सुरू करण्यात आलेले हे युनिट  250 विद्यार्थ्यांचे झाले आहे. या माध्यमातून महाविद्यालयातील राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजनेच्या विद्यार्थ्यांना विविध स्तरांवरील शिबिरांमध्ये व नियमित कार्यक्रमांमध्ये सहभागी होण्याची संधी मिळाली आहे. माझ्यासाठी नव्हे तर तुमच्यासाठी या बोधवाक्याने प्रभावित होऊन आमच्या महाविद्यालयाचे विद्यार्थी सामाजिक जाणिवेचे भान ठेवून विविध क्षेत्रात आपले योगदान देत आहेत.

Objectives (उद्दिष्टे):

1. Understanding the society in which we work. (ज्या समाजात आपण काम करतो त्या समाजाला समजून घेणे.)

2. To qualify oneself to understand the society concerned. (स्वतःला संबंधित समाजाला समजून घेण्यासाठी पात्र बनवणे.)

3. To know the needs of the society, understand its problems and solve them, which will make the society active. (समाजाच्या गरजांची माहिती करून घेणे, त्याच्या अडचणी समजून घेणे व त्या दूर करणे की, ज्यामुळे तो समाज सक्रिय बनेल.)
4. To develop a sense of social responsibility within us. (आपल्यामध्ये सामाजिक बांधिलकीची जाणीव निर्माण करून तिचा विकास करणे.)

5. To use your education to find practical solutions to overcome personal or social problems. (आपल्या शिक्षणाचा उपयोग व्यक्तिगत किंवा सामाजिक अडचणी दूर करून त्यावर व्यावहारिक उपाय शोधण्यासाठी करणे.)

6. To develop in ourselves those qualities which are needed to blend in the society. (समाजात मिसळण्यासाठी ज्या गुणांची गरज आहे, त्या गुणांचा आपल्यामध्ये विकास करणे.)

7. To develop democratic tendencies by imbibing leadership qualities. (नेतृत्व गुण धारण करून लोकशाही प्रवृत्तीचा विकास करणे.)

8. Bridging the gap between literate and illiterate. (साक्षर व निरक्षर यांच्यातील दरी कमी करणे.)

9. To promote and develop national unity. (राष्ट्रीय एकात्मतेचा प्रसार व विकास करणे.)

10. To awaken in the mind the desire to serve the poor sections of the society. (समाजातील गरीब वर्गाची सेवा करण्याची इच्छा मनात जागृत करणे.)
